Willie Blount Governor in and over the State of
Tennessee
To Either of the Treasurers of the State
Pay Reece Porter and Company, one
hundred Dollars for the apprehension and deliverence
of William Phillips, charged with the Murder of
William Quarles, who had escaped from the custody
of the Sheriff of White County, and for whose
apprehension, the Governor by proclamation, offered a
reward of one Hundred Dollars, and this
shall be your warrant.
Given under my Hand and the
Great Seal of the State at Nashville
this 17th day of August 1814
