Sir,
I shall enclose herewith Copy of a Vote of the Senate and House of Representatives of this State respecting an Amendment of the Constitution of the United States proposed by the new respective Legislatures of Tennessee and Pennsylvania.

State of New=Hampshire.
In Senate, June 18, 1814. VOTED, That the Legislature of New-Hampshire, having duly considered the Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, proposed by the Legislatures of Tennessee and Pennsylvania, "to reduce the term of service of Senators in Congress from six to the term of four years from the time they enter upon the duties of their appointments," deem it highly inexpedient to adopt the proposed Amendment : and that His Excellency the Governor be requested to transmit a Copy of this Vote to the Executives of the several States.
