When I left Nashville I fully expected to return by 1^inst, January, I now find that I cannot return earlier than the 15 or 20^th January. So I hope you will hold the [am-bill?] I gave you until I return and not call on Capt Davis as I named to you for the reason that I had to borrow more money of him when I left than I had anticipated.

I will hand you the mony when I return
