His Excelency [sic] the Governor of Tennessee

Sir

I am anxious to receive the appointment of
Commissioner of Deeds for the State of Tennessee to
reside in Michigan I have received the
Appointment from the state of New York
Pennsylvania Ohio Kentucky South Carolina
Missouri Maine Vermont and India
na [are?] desirous of Obtaining one
from each of the State If you will have
the goodness to direct your Secratary [sic] to
forward a Commission It will be for the
accomodation of persons residing here
wishing Deeds or contracts acknowledged
to be used in your State as there is no
Commissioner in this State for Tennessee to
my knowledge I am permited [sic] to refer to
Hon KS Bingham & John Robt M^cCleland
now at Washington from this state,
