His Excellency Neil S. Brown Governor of the State of Tennessee
Dear Sir;
I am so situated that I am compelled to decline the appointment of agent to examine with the state and condition of the Stones River & Cumberland Turnpike Company; and therefore tender you my resignation, that another may be appointed in time to investigate the affairs of the company, before the meeting of the next General assembly.
