I was appointed sometime since by the Governor of Tennessee a Commissioner? of Deeds for the State of Tennessee, and on the night of the distructive fire in this City the 17th of May I was among the suffers, having lost my office, with all my Books, parpers, property, records, and Commissions as a Justice of the Peace & Notary Public, and Commissioner of Deeds for the State of Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, Ohio, Michigan, maryland, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Delaware, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Iowa,
