St Louis May 28th 1849

Dear Sir:

I was appointed sometime since by the
Governor of Tennessee a Commissioner? of Deeds for the
State of Tennessee, and on the night of the distructive
fire in this City the 17th of May I was among the
suffers, having lost my office, with all my Books,
parpers, property, records, and Commissions as a Justice of
the Peace & Notary Public, and Commissioner of Deeds
for the State of Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana,
Ohio, Michigan, maryland, Arkansas, Alabama,
Mississippi, Delaware, South Carolina, Wisconsin
and Iowa,

I have therefore to request of your Excellency,
the favor of a reappointment, or duplicate Commission
and I will be under obligations to the Secretary of
State if he will be kind enough to send me all the
forms of said State appertaining to said Commission
having lost them also by the fire.

I am very Respectfully your
Most Obedient Servent

Thaddeus. K. Wetmore

To his Excellency
the Governor of Tennessee
