To The Governor of Tennessee

In compliance with the request contained in
the second Resolution herewith transmitted, I send you a certified copy of Resolutions passed
by the General Assembly of Ohio, protesting against the annexation of Texas to these United
States.

These Resolutions passed the House of Representatives (the whole number of which
is seventy-two) by a vote of sixty-four in favor, and none against them; and passed the Senate
by a vote of thirty-six (the whole number) for, none against them.
