Sir

your favor of 31st May is rec'd, agreeable to your
proposal I herewith forward you annex'd/ The Hon. Newton
Cannon
s rec'd for the two Swords made for Genls Jackson
and Edmund P.Gaines — Any funds will answer my purpose that
I can negotiate in New York, Philadelphia or Boston, Mass.,
yet a draft on New York or Bills of the Bank U. States
wou'd be preferable. you observe it is better that
this matter shou'd be settled by one transaction. to
which I entirely agree, and shall therefore have it
with you to arrange as my best suits your convenience
and my interest
