Sumnar Countey [sic] July 24 1822

Assteemd [sic] Freind [sic],

I feel it a dutey [sic] incombent [sic]
on me to state to you in this way some
difficultey [sic], that does exist between so
=m [sic] of the citizens of Tennesee [sic] & thoes [sic] of
Caintuckey [sic] reletive [sic] to the State line
which may be of use to you in aney [sic]
araingement [sic] that may be maid [sic] by
your Execelencey [sic] this Session of the
Legeslatore [sic]. the princpal [sic] difficultey [sic]
is this when walkers line was run ther
=e was a [share?] of countrey [sic] from Drakes
creek
to red run & so on for about 20 or
30 Mils [sic] in which thare [sic] was no Timber
except a few [trees?] ameaditly [sic] on the line
fiften [sic] or Twentey [sic] years after walkers

was run & marked a compency of
Caintuckey specttators [sic] run a line about
Two mils [sic] south of walkers line from
Draks creek [sic] west ward how farr I
cant say but perhaps 20 or 30 Mils [sic] &
saved the Land betwen the Two lins [sic] by
head right Claims, Grate [sic] part of which
Lands was & is coverd by Miltatary [sic] [war?]
-ants by this State [?] [wealthley?] [saw?]
[Luts?] have ben [sic] commenced between the
Clamints [sic] & maney [sic] more will be braugten [sic]
if somthing is not done now Sr it seems
to me that commisionars [sic] should be apoin
=ted [sic] to Trace to Trace & Identify walkers
line, which would put an end to thoes [sic] secti
=onial [sic] Broyels [sic] & disputs [sic]. I think the lines
may be easley [sic] traced I have bin [sic] aquanted [sic]
withe [sic] walkers line from Cumberland river
