Dear Sir

I have recently rece'd a
request from the Engeneer [sic] Dpt
of the U States to procure the
most correct and [?]
information of the boundary of
the State of Tennessee & parti
cularly the lines between this
state & Georgia & north Carolina
the report I made to Govenar [sic]
McMinn as Commissioner to
ascertain the line of boundary
between Ten & Georgia will
be desirable & also the report
of the Commissioners who ascer
tained the line between Ten &
N. Carolina I have to request
the favour of you to send me
to Washington City a Copy of
those reports in making the Copy
please have the field notes Copied
& if any return has been made
of the astronomical observations
be please furnish me a Copy
