Sir

I am about to remove from this place, wish
therefore to resign the office of Surveyor for Smith
County - B. F. Martin Esqr has been my
deputy, I respectfully sugest [sic] the propriety
of making him Surveyor- believe that
the appointment will give general satisfaction
