New Albany Octo 17th 1826
Sir
Annex't to this is the certificate of
Mr Thomasson a late member of the Legislator
of Kentucky by which you will ascertain the
correctness of my statement made in my
last letter addressd to you at Nashville with regard
to the disposition of the Legislator towards us by
which it appears there was a majority against
the applicaton 46. 32. The order you gave me on
them I believe is in the hands of [Capt?] Prentiss
I will forward it as soon as I can but I suppose
it will make no difference On your [receiving?] this
do Dr. Sir embrace the earlyest [sic] opportunity of Lay
ing it before the ^Legislature if it should be necessary for I
am distress. I am press down like the [? ?]
many [?] and shall not be able to recover
myself without some [steady? relief?]
