Dr. Sir,

James H Russell the
former Entry Taker for Stewart County has been
dead for some few weeks past and the Citizens have
been at a loss to find any one willing to accept the
appointment, there being but few entries now to make
M^r Neil McDaniel has consented to accept
if you think proper to appoint him - it will be
in accordance with the wishes of many and be
opposed by none - He is an honest, industrious man
and a worthy citizen and will discharge the duties
of the Office promptly - There are a few persons now
waiting and desirous of making Entries -
Be so good as to let me hear from you soon
