Dear Sir}
It has become necessary for you
to exercise in you [sic] official Capacity the appointment
of a Special Judge for the Circuit Courts
of Hickman Humphreys & Stewart & Springfield
permit me to present to your Consideration
Maj Richard Daly who has long been
a [pridisey?] atto[rney] among us and [illegible] forward
a reputation uninpeached [sic] and [unsurpassed?]
a prefferance [sic] of him by you Will
be thankfully recived [sic] by many of
your freind [sic], In the hurry of the
moment we Sent by Judge Humphreys
a recommendation of those of the
Lawyers who were at Court.
