Greeneville May 19th 1832
Dear Sir,
Benjamin Carter the Entry
Taker for Greene County has sold
his property and removed from the
State, and I presume will never
return. a short time before his
departure he was arrested on a
charge of Incest, and was recognized
to our next Circuit Court. the proof
was so strong against him that
I feel confident we shall never
see him again here — in conseq
=uence of Mr. Carters removal
the office of Entry Taker is now
vacant. Robert Maloney Esquire
of this Town has acted as deputy
for Mr. Carter since he recd. the
appointment and is qualified
to keep the office, I should be grateful
if your Excellency would appoint
Mr. Maloney Entry Taker, the office
is of but little value, but it should
