Dear Sir,

By this days mail It is probable
you will receive the resignation of Richard D Wheeler late
principal Surveyor of Campbell County, and having for many
years done the greater part of the Surveying that has
been done in the County I would accept of protem ap
=pointment to that office should sould [sic] such an arrang=
ment meet with your Approbation —
