Governor of the State of Tennessee

The subscribers citizens of Sullivan
County, would beg leave to represent to
your Excellency, that Jacob S Turner Esq^r
[talo?] Entry taker for the County of Sulli-
van departed this life on the 13^th of
April last and consiquently [sic] that said
office is vacant.

Your Petitioners would beg leave
to ask of you to appoint for the time
being, in his room and stead, M^r
Anderson R. Edmonds, a citizen of
Blountville and we do not hesitate
to say that M^rEdmonds will discharge
the duties of the office correctly and
with integrity - and your peti-
tioners will ever pray &c -
