Fellow citizens of the Senate and of the house of
Representatives
It becomes my duty to inform you that
William M Berryhill, the cashier elect of the bank
of the state finds it inconvenient to furnish a
bond for the faithful discharge of his duty such
as is prescribed by the late act of the General Assembly.
Indeed, under the present state of excitement it will
probably be difficult to secure the Services of any
one who can give the bond required. If
the law could be so altered, as to authorize
the bond to be taken with a reasonable penalty,
Mr. [William M. Berryhill|Berryhill]] would have no difficulty in
complying with such a requisition.
