Sir
There has been a vacancy
in this county for some three or four months past
by the removal of Louis R. White, for the office
of Entry Taker, it appears to be dificult [sic]
matter to get any person to accept the appoint
-ment as there prophits [sic] are very small - but
I am autherised [sic] to say that Majo John Sutton
will accept the office if Tendered & Majr Sutton
is a Gentleman of first Rate standing in this County
and by Reference to Mr W. Tanihill is an [illegible]
be further informed as to his charactre [sic] an
standing, as he is well
