If the Office of Atto Genl for the 3rd District has not been filled by a pro tem Appointment - Per mit me to recommend for the Appointment Seth J. W. Lucky - he is a Gentleman every way qualified for the Office - A [fine? first?] scholar - Well read lawyer - Pure Morals. Stern integrity - and pride enough to ensure for the state a safe administration of the law so far as may depend on him
- I know no man I would pre fer to Mr. Lucky had I the Appoint ment to give - he is an orphan
