Dear sir

When you have examined the proposal made by my
friend Mr Litell, for establishing a Public Library, in Tennesee
in every other state in the union, I can have no hesitation
in believing that you will give it your most cordial
support. The liberal spirit manifested by your legislature
in granting funds to the Nashville Universty, inspires con
fidence that, with your recommendation & that our
your funds, the important national object will be
accomplished & that lasting benefits will result.

With great respect
Yo mo obt
