Spata July the 3th 1828

Dear Sir/

Although I have the case of
George Briles much at heart, yet I have not
had time before now to send you the certificates
which you required me to send.

on my return I informed Mr Briles what you had
said relative to some of the names to his petition
being written by the same hand he informed
me that they were written by Major Beadles
during the time of his attending the gatherings of
the canvass of his Election, and has by my
instructions procured the majors letter to that
Effect

I do not hesitate to say but that it is the
General voice of the public in this county that
Broiles should be released but nevertheless
it remains for you to say

I will not intrude my opinion upon you
but will only say that if there ever was
a case where Executive Clemency should be
Exercised it is this

on my return I discover that a writ of
Error has been [prayed?] to the Superior
Court and therefore he has not as yet
suffered any in consequence of my not
