James C. Jones Governor of the State
of Tennessee

To all who shall see these presants and partic
ularly to the Senators and Representatives of hte
28^th Genral Assembly. [Greeting?]

Whereas the Constitution provides that the
Executor may concern the Legislature in ex
tra [depeon?] - when the public [receptions?] demand
it and thereas it is behind that such nice
ly [?] and that the public interest imper
iously requires an early convention of the
General Assembly
Now therefore I James C. Jones Governor as
aforesaid by vesture of hte power and authority
in me vested - do [?] this my proclamation
requiring the Senators and Representatives of
the 27^th General Assembly to convene in the
city of Nashville on the first Monday it being
the 3^d day of October next - then and there to take
with concideration [sic] such matters and things tou
ching the public interest as may be permitted submitted for
this action

In Testimony whereof I have here
unto sit my hand and caused
the [quatt?] side of the State to be [ass
esed?] at Nashville this 1^st day of
August Sept 1842
