this Militia of Memphis
I have inspected Captian A H Davis
Company of " Memphis Ruth Guard and have recieved
them on the Roll of the 128thRuth} Tenn Militia
They are Officated, Uniformed and numbered as the
law directs in {?}{?} and to uniform Company. I also
apporove them Bond they have given for their arms
I pray your excellence, forward them commissionsand and
give directions for their arms.

A H Davis, E F Ruth and Ned B Holt ali of
the county of Shelby and state of Tenneessee are
held and firmly bound unto his Excellency
the Governor of the state and successors
in office in the Sum of Twelve Hundred
dollars to be paid to hid said Excellency his
Successors in Office in assigns to which pay
ment witll and truly to be made me find
Ourselves and heirs executionors and admin
istration each and every of them humbly and
Sincerly by these presents
This condition of the above obligation
is such that whereas A.H. Davis the above [?}
has raised a Volunteer Riffle Company called the Memphis Rifle Guard and has this day
