Told them thier [sic] living out of the circuit placed
it entirely out of my power, to place put them on
a footing with mr Isaacks, and that so soon
as your commission resignation was
received, I did suppose imagine no discretion was
left for me, as I could not suppose any
Gentleman could ^would receive an equal weight
of Patronage in the district Circuit, which
cirumstance I feel bound to regard, more parti
=cularly where, I have not even the pleasure
of an intimate personal acquaintance ^and of course ^less
am ^utterly unable to contrast this ^Legal Talent of opposing
Gentlemen ^where they come in question Its [their?] with mr Overton I have
the pleasure of ^an acquaintance of some extent, and
I assure you sir ^on my part its not less friendly, but except
your self I dont believe recollect that any Gentleman has writ
=ten ^to me in his favor, on this subject- all things
considered I feel it my duty to confer the pro tem
appointment on mr Isaacks-
