Dear Sir,
Your knowledge of me
I hope will be a sufficient apology for
any omision or mistake that may be in
point of form, as respects the within
Certificate; the poles of the election being
^Closed at 4 Oclock P.M, on Saturd^ay a statement
of the poles was not brought to the Court
House until Monday following, the Law
requires, the poles Should be compaired on the
succeeding day which was Sunday -
I Recd your letter previous to your
last Election, I was as formerly, your
friend but could do you but little good as
your was a resident of East Tennessee,
Electionearing party for Col. Weekley said
it ^was like borrowing a man to elect you this
hat its affect with many of the people, I done
what I could for you, a line from you
at any time would be received with thanks
