fled from the Justice of this State to
the State of Tennessee and there upon
we proceeded to the Examination of sundry
witnesses which were brought before us
on be half of the Common Wealth touching
the Felony aforesaid and after careful &
diligent examination of said evidence
We are of Opinion that the said Joseph
Conway is Guilty of Feloniously stealing
taking and carrying away the aforesaid
Negroe [sic] Man Slave the property of
the Said Robert Boyce We
farther state that from the Examina
-tion which we have made the said
Joseph Conway is about twenty one or
two years old about six feet high
slim made black hair & eyes rather
red Complexion than otherwise it was
farther stated to us that s^d. Joseph
Conway resided in the County of Bedford
near Shelbyville in the state of Tennessee
