Dr Sir,

I hope you are enjoying good Health, we have no news.

the Death of Judge Roane has excited much concern, who is to be his Successor, is a subject of much enquiry, for my own part Sir, you know I never have entruded, or troubled you with my Opinion, relative to those duties which devolve on the Executive, But on the present occasion I hope you will pardon the liberty I take, in Recommending to ^yr consideration. Thos Emmerson Esqr, as a suitable Character to succeed our departed Friend Judge Roane. I feel confident
