Knoxville June 8^th 1818-

Sir,

I was appointed by the last Legislature, one
of the managers to superintend the removing
the obstruction to the navigation of the rivers
Holston & Tennessee (see page 161 late acts)

I am very desirous that some person
be appointed that will attend to the duties
as I find it out of my power- you will
therefore consider this as my resignation
