Dear Governer [sic]

in consequence of the resignation of T J Campbell
atto General for the fifth solicitoral district it necessa-
raly [sic] devolves upon your Excellency to fill that office
I think & would recommend N. Haggard as a very fit
lawyer to be vested with the trust both from his
experience in that respect as his place of residence
among us he has heretofore acted in that capacity
in the absence of T J Campbell and proved himself
competent to the task as well or better than any we
have had in that office
