Dear Sir

I have lately Heard that James
R. M^cMeans Esq^r intends Resigning his
appointment as Solicitor of this District,
shou'd he Resign, I Recommend M^r
James Scoott to fill his place believ
=ing him to be sufficiently quallifyed [sic]
to fill that appointment, he is also
a young man in good standing in this
neighbourhood &c. upon my arrival
home from Murfreesborough I found
my family in good Health & am
