To his Excellency
James K. Polk.

The undersigned, Judge of
the 4[th] Judicial, regrets that from continued indisposition,
he will be unable to hold the ensuing terms of the
Circuit Courts for Fentress and Overton Counties - and
he desires that some person be appointed to hold
said courts.
