Sir

This morning rec,^d a few lines from Major
Maury signifying his desire not to begin the
Revisal of the book, untill [sic] the Transcript is
Completed.

The work will soon be finished, the clerks
Have been delayed in the business, by the decayed
State of the books, & sometimes their being in=
=desposed. There is but one that can at this time
Write, & has about 1800 locations to Transcribe
Which, when finished, Shall give the Com=
=missioners Notice to attend.
