to procure that the Executive Magistrate of Tennessee to will exceed
his authority for the sake oif gratifying their wishes or his own

Whether this these reasons together with my former Letters
on the same subject will be satisfactory to your Legislature
I will not pretend to say. It is enough for me to say that
But the more Ireflect on the subject, the more conclusive those
reasons appear to my mind.

Your Excellency's attention to the request in my
Letter of 30th Decr last merits my warmest acknowledgments
I expect shortly to have an opportunity shortly of a private
conveyance It is my and request you would not ^to send the
papers by the mail unless s until you hear from me
again
