Grainger County October the 9^th 1801

Sir/

Early in April last I sent on my Resignation as a Justice
of the Peace, to Governor Sevier in an Inclosure [sic] Directed to the
Secretary M^r Maclin informs me that it never came to him

Be pleased to accept of my Resignation as a Justice of the
Peace in the county of Grainger, State of Tennessee
