Dr Sir
It is with very Great Concern that I hear that a parcel some
of your Neighbours is going to improve land on the so side of
tennessee river, more particularly when I hear that
you are at the head of this party. I will admit
that it is my opinion that the line mentioned in the Act of
Congress will cross the tennessee before it reaches below the Mountains,
but of this I am Certain neither Congress nor the indians president have
any expectation will be the Case, and should any person
attempt to make improvements on that side of the river,
We are certain that it will Occasion Great murmurings
And complaints among the indians, if nothing worse should
hapen [sic], and that moment Congress or the president has a
knowlege of the course the line will may run, is my opinion ^is that
part of the line will be ^immeadiately [sic] altered, which can very easily be affected;
for the same authority which agreed upon the first, can easily
alter or form a new one, and I am sensible this can be this will
be the case, if such attempts should be made - After Giving
you these hints, I beg sir you will consider the matter
and desist from any such attempts. let us do Nothing
