I am extremely sorry that I had it not in my
power to continue your Guard longer as I much
wished so to do. I expect that there will be a guard
of regulars shortly placed at Fort Blount

Your Conduct at that place so far as has
come to my knowledge has been satisfactory
and well conducted, and for which I beg you
to accept my thanks
