Knoxville 29th January 1804

Sir

As soon as you arrive at may return to Nashville with your
Regiment of Mounted Infantry you will please to have
regular muster and payrolls made immeadiately
made out by a proper office that the same may be trans
=mitted to the War office to be examined and adjusted
that payments may be completed without delay- Your
good disposition towards the brave men who have so
readily afforded their services at their Countrys call will not
suffer you to neglect for to having regular & well authentica
ted accounts made out, in order that your men Regiment may
have every species of allowance they may be entitled to.

I am requested by the president of the U States to inform
you, and through you the officers & privates of your Regiment,
that he feels the highest regard & respect, for all those who
have offered rendered their services at their Countrys call

You will have muster & payrolls for those Companies
who belong belonging to those made out at Nashville, and for those
from belonging to Washington & Hamilton after they have returned
into their respective Districts -
is appointed
