Sir
Permit me to trouble you with an address which I beg
you to forward ^directly to the inhabit people said to be ^settled and intruding
upon the Indian lands. I am officially informed by the
Agent of the War department that there is a considerable number
of those persons settled on those lands, and I also understand that
the regular troops ^is about are shortly to be empoyed for their removal
I ^therefore deem it expedient to fore warn them give them information
of the dangers they may be exposed themselves to, should they
be found trespassing as has been to me represented
I have the honor &c
Col.o Hugh Montgomery
