Sir

Your favor of yesterday is now before me, wherein
You inform Me ^Give information that you are desirous of having a meeting
of the Tennessee adventurers at this place, in order
to explain and regulate the objects contemplated by
the company; and are you are pleased to solicit my
approbation to the measure, and say you will conduct
the whole business in the presence of one or two magis=
trates. permit me to inform you, ^sir, that on the conditions
You have proposed, I have no objections to the measure;
on proviso, your conduct shall not be inimical to
this State, or the United States
