Nashville 24^th July 1796.

Sir.

It is said here, but I cannot say
from good Authority, that Boats have
gone down the Ohio to recover possession
of the Forts on the Mississippi which
are to be surrendered by the Spaniards
according to the late Treaty,

The disorganizing or antigover
mental party are supporting the
following Doctrine here, That by
the act of Congress passed for the
acceptance of this state, our
Constitution and every thing done
