Tellico Blockhouse August 22^nd 1796.

Sir,

I have just received a copy of a Treaty of Peace and
friendship between the U States & the Creeks at Coleraine on
the 29^th last, from which it apears little more is
obtained by our commissioners than a recognition of
their former Treaties and permission to erect sundry trading
houses and Garrisons on the south side of the Altamaha
with five miles square anexed to each Garrison. Ihave
not time at present or I would give you a copy- I
can give all the Cherokee news
