Sir

I have been honored with your note of this
morning, with the enclosure, the contents are
picturesque of your good intention, and highly Honorable
as the first officer of the State -

accept Sir my acknowledgements
for the confidence you have expressed that my
conduct will be marked with propriety which
I flatter myself will ever be the case-
