Knoxville 18th august 1797

Sir

I beg leave to inform you that Iam now [?] an address to the people who have intruded on the Indian lands/ ^in the State of Tennessee, and with your excellencys permission to wait on you at seven oclock in the morning to lay it before you, as I have no doubt but you will give it your sanction as chief Magistrate of the state, my reason for wishing to wait on you at that early hour is oweing to Mr grants haveing to set out in the morning and he is to have it put to press
