At the request of M^r. Townshend Stuart Dade We have examined
him touching [his] Legal knowledge [and] abilities, and so
certify that [we find] him to be possessed of sufficient informa=
=tion, in that [respect], to qualify him [for] practicing as an
Attorney in the several Courts of Law & Equity within this
State

Given [under] our hands at Knoxville in the State
of Tennessee, this sixth day of Apri 1798.
