My engagement in the United States
Troops, compels a relinquishment of my com=
=mand of the militia, & as there are new ~
arrangements to take place, I therefore take
this method of informing you, that the company
which I formerly commanded is sufficiently
large for two, containing an hundred & twenty or thirty,
& the people seem to wish a division as it will
be much more convenient, If you wish to
accommodate (as you surely will) you will please
to make the necessary provision for a new election-
