Sir,
Agreeably to the fifth Section of the Act passed by the General Assembly
of the State of Tennessee on the 26th day of October 1799, entitled "An Act making compensation to
the Members, Cerks and door-keepers of the General Assembly, and for defraying other necessary contingencies"
I have numbered the pages of the laws and Journals, printed and published by Roulstone and Wilson,
which are as follows. -
One Copy of the laws, including the laws relative to lands and intestate estates
makes 222 pages, and 13 14/16 Sheets at the rates of 16 pages to each Sheet
528 Copies of the laws (which is the number directed by the Legislature to be
printed) makes 117.216 pages, and 7.326 Sheets.
7.326 Sheets at six cents Per Sheet (which is the price the Legislature contracted
to give) amounts to

One Copy of the Journals of the Senate and House of Representatives
makes 200 pages, and 12 8/16 Sheets, at the rates of 16 pages to each sheet
263 Copies of the Journals (which is the number directed by the Legislature
to be printed) makes 52.600 pages, and 3287 8/16 Sheets -
3287 8/16 Sheets of the Journals at Nine cents per Sheet (which is
the price the Legislature contracted to give) amounts to - 295: 87 1/2
Total amount - 735.. 43 1/2
