State of Tennessee Sevier County
To his Excellency John Sevier, Governniore [sic] in and over said
State, and to the Representatives of said County Jentilmen [sic]
I am Vere [sic] much obleged [sic] to you for your high opinion
of me in appointing me a justice of the peace for said County
in abediance [sic] to your appointment I swore in and has served
this several years and finds myself Rendred un capable
By a sore spot fitt of sickness and a palsy in my Right
arm Thare fore I pray you in your Wisdom would Dismiss me
and appoint James furgason in my place and I shall Be in
Duty Bound to for Ever pray all from your Humble Servant
September the 6 Day 1799
