Sir
Inclosed with these lines, your Excellency
Will receive a remonstrance, setting forth the
State of the books in the millitary land office in
Nashville. -
The State of North Carolina (by their
Agents) have lately taken a Transcript of
Said books, and Should the assembly ^of this State
also (under their sanction) order that another be
Taken, similar to that taken by the State of North
Carolina, the Sooner, it is put in practice, Will be
Necessary, on account of the decayed condition in
Which the books are at present.
I shall give every necessary attention to this
Work, on my return from the State of North Carolina.
